Also the shuttle cost us $150 USD in the first place so this whole experience was pretty much a ripoff.įrom Cancun to Chiquila used the private ride, we must have arrived at peak time as the loading zone was jammed packed and our driver had problem finding a spot. When we said no can you please find change and told him we could go break the bill he cursed us off and drove away. Normally we’d be okay with it but we really didn’t like his demeanor and this all seemed like a scam to just get more money out of us.
We asked if he had change for a 20 usd and he said yes and pretended to ask for change and came back and said he only had a ten and asked if that was ok. When we arrived in Chiquila we were picking up our bags and before we even had our bags in our hands he said “where’s my tips no tips for me?” We were fully intending on tipping and were gathering our bags to ensure we could get our money. He was on his phone eating snacks also while driving very fast on roads with potholes and small hills. However we soon realized the driver was driving extremely fast which was making us uncomfortable. He also accommodated our request to stop by an atm on the way. The driver seemed nice enough and arrived on time. We took this shuttle from a hotel in riviera maya to chiquila and at first the drive seemed ok. I thought this would be better than ado for only 20 pesos more (298 plus 30 for the motor tax from bus field to the ferry) Shuttle also didn't drop off anywhere near the ado station in Playa (where lodging and all are) so several people didn't have cell service and no way to figure out where to go.Ībsolutely a mess and I wouldnt recommend.

Two people didn't make the shuttle as we were more than full and were going to miss their flight.ĭriver never once worse a mask, was coughing, pulling over to spit blowing right back on me Several didn't have an actual seat and sat on the floor. Oir van was 15 ppx and they shoved 18 people in it and their luggage. We were sold a 6 ppx max van by Lorento on island. You have to get in line before everyone else for the shuttle.
Note: just because someone gives you a ticket doesn't mean you have a guaranteed ride. Booked in island (all vendors are the using this company and just use whatsapp to book you-350 pesos in Holbox and 300 if you book in chiq)
